Some people are well-groomed in the world of travel and preparation for some time away. But if you aren’t one of those people and you fancy checking out some useful tips and nifty life hacks then we’ve got just the thing for you. Some may seem more obvious than others but we’re sure you’ll wonder how you never thought of these ideas for yourself once you see them.
Here’s to making life that little easier while your staying at our Torquay hotels
Rolled clothing takes up less space than folded clothing
Obviously, this is not quite a revolutionary, ground-breaking life hack, it’s more one for the less enthusiastic packers shall we say! The ones who don’t normally pack their own bag and want to help this time round perhaps?
Put your phone in a cup and you’ve got some speakers!
If you want to relax in the sun on the balcony or take a shower with some light-hearted tunes for when you just have to sing along to just pop your phone in an empty cup or mug for instant speakers. (Please ensure the mug or cup is dry and there are no other contents in it that might compromise the integrity of your phone).
Pack your dirty shoes in a shower cap
If you’ve been exploring the local countryside or playing with the kids on the beach and made a mess of your shoes, or gotten thoroughly sandy then simply pop them in a shower cap to keep the rest of your belongings free from sand and dirt.
Use a button to keep your earrings together
This is something that really is so simple, yet how many of us have actually thought of it until now? All you have to do is put the hook/pin of your earrings thought the hole and apply the back to it and hey presto! Never will you be without a pair of your favourite earrings again with this little tip.
To avoid tangling, thread a straw with your delicate necklaces
Another super idea if you want to avoid your necklaces getting all tangled up in your bag in transit- we know how annoying that can be! Thread the chain of your necklace through the straw and apply the clasp once it appears at the other end. Then all you need do is enjoy being stress free while on your holiday.
Contact containers are great for storing cosmetics
This tip doesn’t just work for cosmetics, you can use this idea for whatever you like but if you are planning on an evening at a local restaurant or pub and you would like to touch up with a little bit of make-up, then containers for contacts just saved you room in your bag for other essentials.
